Anyways here's the latest build from APKMirror: It's ideal to install it through the XDA-Labs app so you receive update notifications, but that seems to having issues at the moment, though you can try. But few call recorders seem to offer that, and it's a nitpick (sort of) anyways. The only feature it's lacking, for me, is saving calls to the external storage. It can even record audio files as lossless. You'll need to use the "unchained" version, which has to be downloaded outside the Google Play Store, for Android 10 functionality (Google has an official stance against call recording on Android 10). Usually they'll let you record office visits, just ask first, for this very reason. I personally have short-term memory issues and I almost always completely forget what said on calls with doctors. I can't tell you how many critical calls I've missed because the recording software crashed or it waited til after to request new permissions needed to work. It'd also take burden off internal storage (recording files are huge & redundancy is necessary - never entrust everything to cloud storage), and there'd virtually be no errors - unlike software. ![]() Hardware has been the consistent route for calls for over half a century, and with people already using physical 2FA keys, and with 1TB flash drives now the size of a pinky nail with lightening write-speeds thanks to USB 3.1/3.2, a dev should really consider raising $ on Kickstarter to build some prototypes. Just an idea but a small recording accessory that plugs into the USB-C port, with built in storage (similar to a thumb drive), that can easily extract audio from both parties, might be the long-term realistic solution. A hardware solution may become necessary. Now that 11's supposed to limit permissions even more, similar to iOS14's options to grant app permission for specific photos rather than entire gallery, it may become much more difficult. There's def a way to do this with a third party app, but will require permissions be granted via ADB to get around Android 10. Unfortunately I won't be testing it out because it's essentially rooting the device, regardless of the disclaimer stated at the end of the tutorial. Post not showing up? Have a suggestion?
